About the Role
Najoom Al Jazeera is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Finance Department. The ideal candidate should have solid accounting experience within well-established shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain companies in the UAE.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations while supporting the company's continuous growth.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare journal entries.
Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with financial statements.
Process supplier invoices and customer payments.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and company policies.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
Maintain proper financial doentation and records.
Assist management with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Filipino candidates are preferred.
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
Mandatory experience in well-established Shipping, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Supply Chain companies within the UAE.
Experience with companies such as Maersk, CMA CGM, MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, Aramex, DHL, FedEx, UPS, DSV, DB Schenker, Kuehne+Nagel, Agility, GAC, or similar organizations is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.
Experience using ERP systems and accounting software.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the automotive shipping industry.
Experience handling high-volume financial transactions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
