Job Summary:
The CNC Machine Operator in the Metal Fabrication department is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality metal parts and components according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines to produce metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor the production process to maintain quality and efficiency.
Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Make necessary adjustments to machines to maintain quality and output.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety procedures.
Report any machine malfunctions or quality issues promptly to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate production records and logs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator or similar role in metal fabrication.
Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and metal machining processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
Basic computer skills for machine programming and production logging.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC operations preferred.
1–3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
Working Conditions:
Work in a manufacturi environment.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
Shift work may be required depending on production schedules.
