Key Responsibilities
1. Programming & Setup
Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for cutting, drilling, engraving, and shaping operations on wood and related materials.
Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and design specifications to generate accurate tool paths.
Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies based on material and job requirements.
Ensure proper tool selection, tool life monitoring, and tool inventory control.
Perform machine setup including calibration, alignment, and fixture preparation.
2. Machine Operation
Operate CNC routers and woodworking machinery to produce components as per specifications and timelines.
Set up workpieces, clamps, fixtures, and tooling with high accuracy.
Monitor machine operations continuously and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Ensure optimal machine utilization and minimize material wastage.
3. Quality Control & Maintenance
Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with drawings, tolerances, and quality standards.
Conduct in-process quality checks to prevent defects and rework.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of CNC machines.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in line with company standards.
4. Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work closely with design, production, and assembly teams for smooth workflow and timely project completion.
Provide feedback on design feasibility and manufacturability.
Suggest and implement improvements in processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing and waste reduction.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Diploma or Certification in CNC Programming, Wood Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in CNC programming and machine operation (wood or similar materials).
Experience in flight case manufacturing or custom packaging is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in C software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and CNC machining processes.
Understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and joinery methods.
Familiarity with 3-axis a 5-axis CNC machines.
Other Skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong adherence to workplace safety standards and procedures.
Good time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be locally available in Dubai and able to attend face-to-face interviews.
