The ELV Technician – Team Lead is responsible for leading on-site ELV installation teams, ensuring timely and quality execution of ELV systems in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards. The role combines hands-on technical work with team supervision, coordination, and reporting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities•Lead and supervise ELV technicians and helpers on site.•Plan daily work activities and allocate tasks to team members.•Install, test, commission, and troubleshoot ELV systems including:•Structured cabling (CAT6, CAT6A, Fiber Optic)•CCTV and video surveillance systems•Access control and time attendance systems•IP networking and telephony systems•Public Address (PA) and background music systems•Audio-Visual (AV) systems•SMATV / IPTV systems•Intercom and video door phone systems•Ensure cable routing, termination, labeling, and dressing are done as per standards.•Read and interpret shop drawings, layouts, and technical doents.•Coordinate with project engineers, main contractors, consultants, and other trades.•Attend site inspections and support testing & commissioning activities.•Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and site safety policies.•Monitor material usage and report shortages or damages.•Prepare daily progress reports and assist with as-built doentation.•Handle troubleshooting, rectification, and handover support.
Skills & Competencies•Strong leadership and team coordination skills.•Excellent technical knowledge of ELV systems.•Ability to resolve site issues independently.•Good understanding of structured cabling standards (T communication and reporting skills.•Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience•Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Electrical, Electronics, or ELV systems.•Minimum 4–5 years of ELV experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.•Valid UAE driving license – Mandatory.•Proven experience in UAE ELV projects.•Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, switches, PoE).
Physical & Site Requirements•Ability to work at heights and in active construction environments.•Physically fit for site-based technical work.
