Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup: Install, align, and adjust printing plates, cylinders, and ink rollers according to job specifications.
Operation: Run flexographic presses, feeding materials like plastic, paper, or flexible packaging into the machine.
Quality Control: Monitor print quality, color consistency, and registration throughout the production run to ensure it meets quality standards.
Ink & Materials: Mix, check, and adjust ink viscosity and color, as well as load materials (substrates).
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic mechanical repairs on equipment to minimize downtime.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including OSHA, GMP, or ISO standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience as a flexographic press operator is often required (typically 1+ years).
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of ink mixing, substrate handling, and prepress operations.
Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, work in varied temperatures (noise), and lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs).
Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to read rulers, calculate, and adjust for precise registration.
Education: High school diploma or GED is usually required.
