Operate and maintain conventional machining equipment such as lathe, milling, drilling and grinding machines.
Perform machining, turning, milling, boring, drilling, threading and related workshop activities.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and technical specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools, measuring instruments and machining methods.
Carry out accurate dimensional measurements using Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges and other precision tools.
Perform repair and re-machining of mechanical components as required.
Ensure finished components meet required dimensions, tolerances and quality standards.
Conduct basic machine inspection, cleaning, lubrication and routine maintenance.
Identify machining defects and make necessary corrections.
Follow workshop safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Coordinate with supervisors and mechanical teams to complete assigned jobs within the required timeframe.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience as a General Machinist.
Minimum 2-year approv Machinist training or technical qualification.
Port / Shipyard / Marine experience is mandatory.
Good knowledge of conventional machining operations.
Ability to read engineering drawings and work to close tolerances.
Experience with lathe, milling, drilling and grinding machines.
Good knowledge of measuring and precision instruments.
Strong understanding of workshop safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
