The Head Barista is the leading coffee professional responsible for all aspects of the coffee and beverage program at our pizza restaurant. This role goes beyond crafting exceptional espresso-based drinks — the Head Barista sets the standard for coffee quality, trains and develops the barista team, manages bar operations, and ensures every guest receives a consistently outstanding beverage experience that complements our food offering.
•Prepare and serve the full range of espresso-based beverages (espresso, americano, cappuccino, flat white, latte, macchiato, cortado, etc.) to a consistently high standard.
•Dial in espresso daily — adjusting grind size, dose, yield, and extraction time — to achieve optimal flavour profiles for each coffee origin or blend.
•Craft manual brew methods (pour-over, AeroPress, cold brew, etc.) where applicable to the restaurant's menu.
•Execute latte art to a professional level (rosettes, tulips, and advanced patterns) across all milk-based drinks.
•Prepare non-coffee beverages including teas, fresh juices, specialty sodas, and seasonal drinks as per the menu.
Education
•High school diploma or equivalent required; Diploma or certification in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field is an advantage.
•Formal barista training from a recognized institution or specialty coffee association is strongly preferred.
Experience
•Minimum 3–5 years of professional barista experience, with at least 1–2 years in a senior or lead barista role.
•Proven experience operating commercial espresso machines and multi-hopper grinders in a high-volume setting.
•Track record of training and developing barista staff.
