The Mechanical BIM Engineer will be responsible for creating and managing Building Information Models (BIM) for mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards. This role involves active collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to design and coordinate mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, while ensuring seamless integration across all building systems.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:
•BIM Development and Coordination:
oDevelop, modify, and maintain BIM models for mechanical systems using Autodesk Revit and other BIM software.
oCoordinate mechanical BIM models with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to eliminate clashes.
oEnsure all models adhere to project-specific BIM execution plans and company standards.
•Design Support:
oAssist in the design of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
oPrepare detailed drawings, layouts, and schedules for mechanical systems using BIM tools.
•Quality Control:
oConduct clash detection and resolution using software like Navisworks.
oPerform regular model audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
•Collaboration and Communication:
oCollaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project goals and deliverables.
oProvide support and guidance to team members on BIM processes and software usage.
•Doentation and Reporting:
oGenerate and update mechanical BIM-related reports, drawings, and schedules.
oMaintain accurate doentation and records throughout the project lifecycle.
•Software Utilization:
oKeep up to date with the latest advancements in BIM software and methodologies.
oPropose process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in BIM workflows.
                    
                        •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 3 years in BIM modeling and coordination.
•Experience with GCC projects, preferably in healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality, a institutional design sectors.
•Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Mechanical discipline), AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM-related tools.
•Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
•Knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
•Familiarity with clash detection and resolution processes.
•Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
•Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
•Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit is preferred.
•Membership in professional organizations such as ASHRAE or CIBSE is a plus.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
