We are seeking an experienced and commercially strong MEP Estimation Engineer / Tendering Engineer to join our team in Dubai.
The successful candidate must have more than 5 years of UAE experience in MEP estimation and tendering, preferably with an established MEP contracting company, and must be capable of independently managing the complete tendering process from initial doent review through final pricing and submission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Review tender drawings, BOQs, specifications, scope of work and contract requirements.
-Prepare complete and accurate MEP cost estimates and tender prices.
-Carry out detailed quantity take-offs for (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage ,Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, and ELV Systems
-Perform accurate digital quantity take-offs using Plan Swift.
-Develop and maintain Plan Swift assemblies, templates and measurement databases where required.
-Prepare detailed rate analysis covering materials, labor, equipment and subcontract works.
-Obtain, evaluate and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
-Prepare detailed Technical & Commercial Comparison Sheets.
-Develop competitive tender pricing based on current UAE market conditions.
-Identify project exclusions, qualifications, assumptions, risks and commercial requirements.
-Review tender addenda, clarifications and revised drawings and incorporate all changes into the final tender.
-Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, QS and project teams during the tender stage.
-Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
-Prepare tender clarifications, commercial proposals and detailed cost breakdowns.
-Assist management with final tender review, negotiations and submission.
-Maintain an updated database of UAE material prices, suppliers and subcontractor rates.
-Maintain historical tender rates and actual project cost data for future estimating.
REQUIREMENTS:
- More than 5 years of UAE experience in MEP estimation and tendering.
- Previous experience with an MEP contracting company is strongly preferred.
- Strong practical experience with Plan Swift is mandatory.
- Ability to independently perform quantity take-offs and measurements using Plan Swift.
- Strong knowledge of UAE MEP construction practices and market rates.
- Excellent understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical MEP systems.
- Strong experience in quantity take-off, rate analysis and tender pricing.
- Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, BOQs and technical specifications.
- Good knowledge of UAE suppliers, manufacturers and MEP subcontractors.
- Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Experience with other estimati software such as Bluebeam Revu, CostX, Autodesk Takeoff, Cubit, Trimble Accubid or similar will be an advantage.
- Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict tender deadlines.
- UAE driving license is an advantage.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE
- Strong network of UAE MEP suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
- Experience in independently pricing and submitting medium to large-scale MEP projects, particularly projects valued at AED 5 million and above.
- Strong experience covering both Mechanical and Electrical estimation.
- Good commercial understanding of procurement, subcontracting and project execution costs.
- Ability to identify pricing risks and opportunities before tender submission
