Job Purpose:
To perform installation, fabrication, and maintenance of MS and GI chilled water piping systems for HVAC projects in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1)Read and interpret HVAC drawings, piping schematics, and isometric diagrams.
2)Measure, cut, thread, groove, and fit MS and GI pipes according to design specifications.
3)Assemble and install chilled water pipelines including valves, strainers, flanges, unions, supports, and hangers.
4)Carry out grooving, threading, or welding (if certified) for MS and GI pipe connections.
5)Conduct pressure testing and leak checks on chilled water lines.
Install necessary fittings such as elbows, tees, reducers, and flexible connectors.
6)Ensure pipe alignment, gradient, and proper support installation.
7)Coordinate with other trades to avoid clashes and maintain installation sequence.
8)Perform pipe insulation preparation (coordinate with insulation team).
9)Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and proper condition.
10)Follow all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) rules and site safety requirements.
11)Report any material shortage, damage, or deviation from drawings to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience:
1)ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Pipefitting Trade.
2)3–5 years of experience in chilled water piping installation using MS and GI pipes.
3)Skilled in pipe cutting, threading, grooving, and fitting (Victaulic system experience is a plus).
4)Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and piping layouts.
5)Knowledge of hydrostatic pressure testing procedures.
6)Basic understanding of pipe supports, hangers, and insulation requirements.
7)Familiar with safe handling and installation practices for MS and GI materials.
8)Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Physical & Work Requirements:
1)Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying weather conditions.
2)Capable of lifting and handling pipes and fittings as per safety limits.
3)Willing to work extended hours or shifts based on project needs.
