Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and controlling fabrication and production activities in an Oil & Gas EPC environment. The role ensures safe execution, quality compliance, and timely completion of production activities in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Execution
•Supervise daily fabrication and production activities related to pressure vessels, piping spools, skids, and structural works.
•Ensure production is carried out as per approved drawings, work orders, and project schedules.
•Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and tools to meet production targets.
•Monitor daily progress and report production status to management.
Quality Control
•Ensure compliance with approved WPS, ITPs, and project specifications.
•Coordinate with QC team for fit-up inspection, welding, NDT, PWHT, and hydrotesting activities.
•Support closure of NCRs and punch points.
HSE Compliance
•Ensure strict adherence to HSE rules and safe work practices on the shop floor.
•Conduct toolbox talks and ensure usage of PPE by all workers.
•Identify hazards and take corrective actions to avoid accidents.
Coordination & Planning
•Coordinate with Engineering, QC, Planning, and Stores for smooth execution of work.
•Ensure availability of materials, consumables, and drawings before starting work.
Manpower Supervision
•Supervise welders, fitters, fabricators, helpers, and subcontract manpower.
•Monitor attendance, productivity, and workmanship of the workforce.
•Guide and train workers to improve efficiency and quality standards.
Doentation & Reporting
•Maintain daily production and manpower reports.
•Support doentation for client and third-party inspections.
•Assist management during audits and inspections.
Qualification & Experience
•Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
•3–8 years of experience in Oil & Gas EPC fabrication or manufacturing environment.
•Experience in pressure vessels, piping, skids, or packaged equipment preferred.
Skills & Competencies
•Knowledge of fabrication processes and shop-floor operations.
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
•Understanding of welding, NDT, and quality requirements.
•Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
•Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, reports, emails).
