**Job Title: Quantity Surveyor**
Job Overview
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. They play a key role in ensuring that construction projects are completed within budget while meeting quality standards and legal requirements. The QS evaluates project costs, prepares tender and contract doents, and performs risk and value management.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables for construction projects
* Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning for new developments
* Analyze drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costings
* Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers
* Prepare tender and contract doentation, including bills of quantities
* Monitor project progress, including tracking variations and valuations
* Advise on contractual claims and disputes
* Perform risk, value management, and cost control
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and project managers
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety, and legal requirements
* Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for stakeholders
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
* Professional membership (e.g., RICS, AIQS, or equivalent) is a plus
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role in the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
* Excellent numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in cost estimating and project management software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Project)
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
