The role includes oversight of diagnostic virology, expert clinical consultation, infection prevention, outbreak management, teaching, research, and collaboration with public health authorities. The consultant will contribute to audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance, with on-call responsibilities included.

a) Medical Doctor with completed training in Clinical Virology or Microbiology
b) Recognized board certification (FRCPath / FRCPC / FRCPA or equivalent)
c) Registration with a recognized Health Council
d) Minimum 3 years’ experience at Consultant level
e) Academic publications (2–5 peer-reviewed papers, including 1–3 as Consultant)
f) Teaching and supervision experience
g) Successful OMSB Dataflow and personal assessment interview
