Role Purpose
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Mechanical Field Service Technician with broad experience in industrial and marine equipment. The role requires someone who can independently understand a job requirement, select and set up suitable equipment, make the necessary mechanical and hose interconnections, opera equipment, and solve practical problems at site.
The position will support a variety of maintenance, cleaning, pumping, pressurization and technical service projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up, operate, troubleshoot and maintain diesel generators, pumps, air compressors and other mechanical equipment.
* Install and connect hoses, manifolds, valves, fittings, reducers, couplings and temporary piping arrangements.
* Select suitable hoses, fittings and connections based on pressure, flow, flu and equipment requirements.
* Set up temporary equipment systems for site jobs, including pumping, dewatering, tank cleaning, flushing, pressure cleaning, air supply and pressurization.
* Work with high-pressure and UHP cleaning equipment, where experienced and appropriately trained.
* Troubleshoot equipment and system problems directly at site and develop practical solutions.
* Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of pumps, compressors, generators and associated equipment.
* Assist with equipment mobilization, installation, testing, commissioning and demobilization.
* Inspect equipment before use and identify defective hoses, connections, seals, valves and mechanical components.
* Coordinate with supervisors, operators and other technicians during field operations.
* Follow company HSE procedures, particularly for pressurized systems, rotating equipment and high-pressure hoses.
Preferred Experience
* 5+ years of hands-on field experience in industrial, marine, oil & gas, maintenance, rental-equipment or technical services.
* Strong practical knowledge of centrifugal pumps, positive-displacement pumps, diesel-driven equipment, air compressors and generators.
* Good understanding of hoses, pressure ratings, flanges, quick couplings, camlocks, valves, manifolds and fittings.
* Experience assembling temporary field equipment packag, rather than only maintaining individual machines.
* Experience with tank cleaning, hydrojetting, dewatering, flushing, air blowing, pressure testing or similar field services is an advantage.
* Able to diagnose problems and work independently with limited supervision.
* Mechanical trade certificate, diploma or equivalent practical experience preferred.
